Komatsu and Asunaro Aoki Construction Co. have collaborated to develop electric amphibious crawler dozers, set for release at the 2025 Future Society Showcase Project in Osaka, Kansai, Japan. These innovative machines feature automatic control systems and advanced information and communications technology (ICT), allowing for remote operation without the need for skilled operators. The first prototype was completed in July 2023, with tests carried out in rivers and fishing ports.

At the 2025 Expo, the focus will be on the theme “Underwater Construction of the Future: Enabling Anyone to Contribute to Protecting Lives and Livelihoods,” showcasing the potential of underwater construction robots. The exhibition will highlight how these technologies can support disaster prevention and recovery, renewable energy projects, and blue carbon initiatives, including the development of seagrass beds and tidal flats.
